OL Public-Rail Safety Week 2012

Operation Lifesaver and its partners will kick-off/launch the 10th edition of Public-Rail Safety Week on April 30th with the unwavering goal to reduce crossing collisions and trespassing incidents along railways in communities across Canada.

Operation Lifesaver, backed with strong rail industry and government support, will be focusing public attention on the preventable deaths and injuries that continue to occur at railway crossings and illegal trespassing on railway property. From April 30 – May 6, volunteers and supporters from coast to coast will be engaging in conversations with their communities about public-rail safety message.

With over 300 activities taking place during this annual event, Operation Lifesaver continues to shine the light on these concerns and to promote public safety near trains and rail property. Operation Lifesaver thanks all the men and women who volunteer to promote public-rail safety and who collectively are the key towards realizing the vision of a Canada free of grade crossing and trespassing fatalities and injuries.
