This training program illustrates the potential dangers that await drivers at highway/railway crossings.
Brought to you by Operation Lifesaver, this information package contains important safety tips that can help drivers avoid a tragedy at a highway/railway crossing. The DVD/CD package is intended to help the professional trainer provide the necessary safety information to student drivers. Each bilingual package contains an Instructor’s Guide, Student Notes and Safety Quiz text files that can be easily printed from the CD, and the related videos can be viewed on the DVD.
The purpose of these modules is to reduce vehicle-train collisions nationwide by educating professional driver instructors and their students.
Operation Lifesaver, Canada is a nationwide, not-for-profit, public information and education organization dedicated to eliminating collisions, injuries and fatalities at highway railway crossings as well as trespassing incidents on railway rights-of-way. The program provides information to professional drivers and the general public. Operation Lifesaver is sponsored by the Railway Association of Canada and Transport Canada and works in cooperation with many community organizations. The program has contributed significantly to more than 60 percent reduction in collisions and casualties at highway/railway crossings since 1981, despite a nationwide increase in train and vehicle traffic.
