Meet our Off The Rails Contest Winners!
If you've been following the blog over the last few months, you know that we were very excited to launch the "OFF THE RAILS" Contest in the fall of 2011. This contest was aimed at 11 - 14 year olds and asked students in this age group across Canada to create a rail safety message that would encourage their peers to stay off the rails. Teams of two or more were competing to win their share of more than $10,000 in prizes.
The contest closed on December 31, 2011 and the contest finalists were named shortly thereafter. The online voting period ran from February 1 - February 29, 2012 and Canadians were asked to chose Canada's best youth rail safety messages in four categories.
An impressive 8,560 votes were cast and the winners have officially been chosen! In each category, first place winners will receive a prize of $2,000 and two secondary winners will be awarded $500. Please join us in offering congratulations to the following winning teams:
