Is the Look. Listen. Live. message being heard?
Every month, we publish the number of railway crossing and trespassing incidents across the country. Sadly, we haven’t been seeing a decrease in the number of Canadians injured or killed in these tragic incidents. Until last month.
July’s statistics give us hope that Canadians are heeding our rail safety message:
Look. Listen. Live.
The number of fatalities and injuries in July 2018 was down compared to the same month the year before. In fact, the number of people who were killed as a result of trespassing and crossing incidents in the month of July decreased by more than 50 per cent from the year before.
But we can do even better. Let’s work together to get these numbers down to zero—because even one death is too many.
