Railway crossing and trespassing incidents down in December 2018
The number of serious injuries at railway crossings and as a result of trespassing dropped significantly in December 2018 compared to the month before. Four people were injured in incidents—another three were killed.
Although our goal is to eliminate all railway crossing and trespassing incidents, December’s numbers were a big improvement over the month before. In November 2018, 10 people were seriously injured in railway crossings incidents, and another two were injured trespassing on railway property.
But let’s work together to get these numbers down to zero—because they can all be prevented. And even one death is too many.
Don’t be another statistic. Obey all warning signs and signals, keep off of train tracks and railway property, and heed Operation Lifesaver’s motto: “Look. Listen. Live.”
