OL adds two new animated videos to its toolkit for Canadian municipalities
Operation Lifesaver has a simple goal: to save lives. Through our education campaigns, we work to prevent Canadians from being killed or seriously injured in railway crossing and trespassing incidents.
But stopping these tragedies is a team effort—and municipalities are a key part of that team. That’s why last fall, Operation Lifesaver developed a
toolkit of materials for local governments to share with residents to ensure they know how to stay rail safe.
OL is pleased to announce that two new animated videos
—Wheel of Danger and
Level Crossing Battle—have been added to that toolkit. These eye-catching videos highlight the dangers of trespassing on railway tracks and taking risks at level crossings, and can be played with or without sound, posted to municipal websites, shared on social media, or played on screens in municipal buildings.
“We believe that rail safety is a shared responsibility and we’re working with municipalities across the country to help keep Canadians safe,” says Sarah Mayes, National Director, Operation Lifesaver Canada. "These two new videos are an engaging way for municipalities to reach Canadians and make them aware of the hazards around railway crossings, tracks and trains.”
OL encourages all Canadians to check out its
new animated videos, and to share them with their friends and family to help raise awareness about rail safety. It takes less than a minute—and it could save lives.
