A tragic end to 2022

December was a deadly month when it comes to railway crossing and trespassing incidents. Seven Canadians lost their lives trespassing on railway tracks or property. Two others were killed in crossing incidents. That’s three times as many fatalities as December 2021.

The tragic part is that every one of these incidents could have been prevented—if Canadians knew and followed the rail-safety rules.

Don’t be another statistic. Keep off of railway tracks and property, always obey railway warning signs and signals, and heed Operation Lifesaver’s motto: “Look. Listen. Live.” Staying safe is all about following the rail-safety rules.
