Good news: Railway crossing incidents down in May 2019
The number of people who lost their lives or were seriously injured in railway crossing incidents decreased significantly in May compared to the previous year. One Canadian died in a crossing incident last month and another was seriously injured. In May 2018, five people were killed in crossing incidents.
Although Operation Lifesaver’s goal is to prevent all deaths and injuries caused by collisions at railway crossings or trespassing incidents, May’s numbers were an improvement.
Help us reach our goal of zero railway crossing and trespassing incidents. Obey all warning signs and signals, keep off of train tracks and railway property, and heed Operation Lifesaver’s motto: “Look. Listen. Live.”
