Recognizing Those Who Go the Extra Mile to Promote Rail Safety
Reducing the number of deaths and injuries at railway crossings and as a result of trespassing on railway property is a team effort. We depend on our dedicated partners and volunteers across the country to educate Canadians of all ages through rail safety presentations to schools, youth clubs, driver associations, snowmobile and ATV clubs and other community groups.
The
Roger Cyr Award for Public Rail Safety is our way of recognizing the important work these people do in helping spread the rail safety message. Named after the founder of Operation Lifesaver Canada, this award is given to an OL partner or volunteer who goes above and beyond in promoting railway safety.
But choosing just one of our partners or volunteers isn’t always easy. That’s where we need your help.
Do you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to rail safety in 2017 through educational, training or community-based programs? Why not recognize them for their hard work by nominating them for the 2018 Roger Cyr Award?
