February rail safety stats: crossing incidents are on the rise in 2017
According to February’s railway safety statistics, crossing incidents are on the rise in Canada in 2017 compared to the same time last year. That’s an alarming kick-off to the year and it’s going to take a group effort to buck this trend. It starts with making sure the important people in your life know the dangers associated with train tracks.
We can point you in the right direction with a ton of great online
resources, and a wealthy stock of
rail safety DOs and DON’Ts that will help you, and your friends and family, stay on the right side of the tracks.
Finally, it’s important to remember that these kinds of incidents are totally preventable, so do us a favour and remember: Stay off the tracks—pass it on.
Unfortunately, February starts aren't the only cause for concern. There were
more railway-related fatalities in January 2017 than in January 2016, and 2016 as a whole saw
a rise in trespassing incidents.
