January rail safety stats: 2017 starts with more fatalities than 2016

2017 isn’t off to a great start in regards to rail safety. In January 2017 there were three trespasser fatalities, compared to one in January 2016, and two crossing fatalities versus one for the same time period. This is distressing, to say the least. So here it is, plain and simple: Look! Listen! Live! when you approach railway tracks and property. Don’t make the potentially fatal choice to take a shortcut across the tracks—make the wiser decision to cross at a designated crossing! Think about this: more than just you will be forever impacted by a split-second decision made because you were in a hurry or because you were distracted by your phone. See Tracks? Think. Pass it on.
