Nominations now open for the 2019 Roger Cyr Award

At Operation Lifesaver (OL) our goal is simple: to save lives. But making sure Canadians are aware of the hazards associated with railway property and trains is a team effort. It takes the rail industry, governments, law enforcement, labour groups, the media, and communities from coast to coast working together to prevent incidents—and save lives.

Our Rail Safety Ambassadors and partners play a critical part in our ability to spread the rail safety message to Canadians across the country. And we believe they deserve recognition for their efforts. The Roger Cyr Award for Public Rail Safety is our way of shining a light on the incredible contribution these people make.

Recognizing those who go the extra mile to promote rail safety

Named after the founder of Operation Lifesaver Canada, the Roger Cyr Award is given out annually to an OL partner or Rail Safety Ambassador who goes above and beyond in promoting railway safety. The award is a chance to recognize the people who volunteer their time to make a difference.

But choosing just one of our partners or Rail Safety Ambassadors each year isn’t always easy. That’s why we need your help.

Nominate someone who is deserving today!
