Nominations now open for the 2020 Roger Cyr Award
At Operation Lifesaver (OL) our goal is simple: to save lives. But preventing railway crossing and trespassing incidents is a team effort. We depend on our dedicated Rail Safety Ambassadors across the country to help us reach this goal.
Our Rail Safety Ambassadors educate Canadians of all ages through rail safety presentations and events at schools, youth clubs, driver associations, snowmobile and ATV clubs and other community groups. They play a critical part in our ability to spread the rail safety message to Canadians across the country. And we believe they deserve more than a pat on the back for their efforts.
Named after the founder of Operation Lifesaver Canada, the
Roger Cyr Award for Public Rail Safety is our way of recognizing the people who volunteer their time to help stop track tragedies. It’s given out annually to an OL partner or Rail Safety Ambassador who goes the extra mile to promote rail safety.
But choosing just one of our amazing Rail Safety Ambassadors each year isn’t easy. That’s where you come in.
We’re looking to you to nominate people who’ve made an outstanding contribution to rail safety through education, training or community-based programs. To find out how to nominate someone, check out our
website or simply
download the nomination package. Then just fill out the form and email it to
admin@operationlifesaver.ca no later than
June 30,
2021. It‘s that easy.
So, why not nominate someone you know today and help us to give them the recognition they deserve.
