Look. Listen. Live. Community Safety Partnership Program

In 2018, HUB Surface Systems partnered with Operation Lifesaver Canada to launch the Look. Listen. Live. Community Safety Partnership Program. The program encourages municipalities to work to prevent pedestrian-train incidents by installing Look.Listen.Live. decals at select crossings in their communities.

The Look. Listen. Live. Community Safety Partnership Program provides participating communities with the following benefits:
  • First Look.Listen.Live. Safety Decal at no cost: Through the program, HUB Surface System will generously provide the first safety decal at no cost to the participating community. Any additional decals will be made available to communities at a discounted rate.
  • Unveiling: If supported by the municipality, the unveiling of the Look. Listen. Live. decals is marked by an official launch event, with the participation of the city council and the local media.
  • Rail Safety PresentationOperation Lifesaver and its partners also contribute to the launch, by making rail safety presentations in local schools on the same day.
  • Rail Safety Resolution: Finally, participating communities are encouraged to pass a resolution promoting rail safety during Canada’s annual Rail Safety Week at the end of September.
So far, the City of Vancouver has committed to participating in the Look. Listen. Live. Community Safety Partnership Program. HUB and Operation Lifesaver plan to reach out to other key Canadian municipalities in the coming months, to encourage them to get engaged with this innovative rail-safety program.
